Body

We study the strategies underlying the neural control of movement, examining how neural control interacts with the mechanical properties of the body to produce natural behaviors.  We use a combination of behavioral, biomechanical, and neurophysiological studies in animal models to better understand motor abilities. We seek to translate this understanding in order to develop and evaluate novel interventions that can help restore function following injuries or can prevent injuries from occurring in the first place.
